So Easy a Democrat Could Do It!

I love the GEICO commercials on the theme “So easy a CAVE Man could do it!” The poor Neo-Neanderthals take offense at the insinuation that they are stupid.

I remember taking offense for the TurboTax software producers with the US Treasury Secretary nominee Timothy Geitner said he used Turbo Tax and it led him to make errors in his tax returns.

For one thing, he was lying. His “consulting” work company, International Monetary Fund, sent him statements telling him EXACTLY how much income tax he owed on what they paid him.

Secondly, TurboTax is VERY thorough in stepping you through your income for the previous year. Our family used it for many years. It always asks a question like “Did you earn ANY other income for the tax year?” And when you enter the amount, it calculates for you what you should pay.

Geitner joins a long list of Democrat tax cheaters . . . Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, Pete Stark, Robert Wexler and Rep. Charles Rangel . . . who is FINALLY stepping down as CHAIRMAN of the committee that WRITES your tax code!!

In one of George Will’s recent columns
, he discusses an outline of a much easier income tax plan.

10% on incomes up to $50,000
25% on incomes above that
No deductions, credits or exclusions other than a health care tax credit

It’s SO EASY a DEMOCRAT could do it!

  1. California congressman Pete Stark (D), the second-ranking Ways and Means Committee member who was passed over for the chairmanship, also recently faced an ethics committee probe of improper tax benefits received on his Maryland home, he improperly claimed a Maryland lakefront home (assessed at $1.7 million) as his primary residence in order to qualify for a special real estate tax break.
